Finmar Photography
Tim Jones is a freelance wedding photographer in Staffordshire who runs Finmar Photography, named after two of his rescue golden retrievers Finlay and Marlow. Being inspired by the fresh style of my online portfolio, the client’s request was to re-design his website to give it a professional and modern appearance, as well as to drive newly engaged customers towards his photography business.
The information and imagery that the client wanted to be displayed had already been chosen, as it was on his previous website, but the visual style and overall layout needed updating, so therefore the design-based decisions were left completely up to me! Since he is a specialised wedding photographer, I decided that a white and silver themed website would work effectively alongside the wedding photographs displayed; it enhances the warm colours of the photographs and also compliments the bridal dresses and grooms’ suits.
One thing that I kept in mind throughout the entire design process was to make the website simplistic in terms of use - there is nothing that drives potential customers away more than a website that is hard to navigate around and difficult to contact through - so even though the visual style is now modernistic, the layout is still very straightforward.
